Public consultation in all EU languages
22. 06. 2012Resolution requesting the public consultation in all EU languages will soon arrive to the European Commission. 14th June at the EP plenary session in Strasbourg the vast majority of the MEPs supported the initiative of the Czech Social Democratic MEP Olga Sehnalová. Both largest parliamentary fractions, the S & D and EPP, voted for the initiative in the framework of the EP Committee for Culture, Education and Communication (CULT). The resolution calls on the European Commission to ensure that all EU institutions make their intentions public consultation in all official languages. It also calls for a more humane form of consultation to be understandable for an "ordinary citizen", not just for big companies and lobbyists. Discussion on the proposals should also be open for period long enough.
